Happily ever after for everyone is just so boring!

It’s pretty much a given at this point that I read a lot of fan fiction.  I have multiple fandoms that I obsess over, some of which I would rather read the fic than watch/read the original source material (hello, HP fans).

One of my (many) pet peeves in fan fiction is the aggrieved party instantly and totally forgiving the offender faster than it takes my cat to steal my pillow (again). If a character constantly gets shit upon by his/her supposed BFF, gets injured or a family member gets injured because of their BFF, said BFF should not be forgiven within a paragraph.

Seriously, what’s up with these writers? Let your main character have a spine, for fucks sake, and take a stand.
